Many young girls love animals, and as a child, I would spend a great deal of time riding horses and playing with the animals in the barn.

When the day would get too warm to ride, I would often sketch the nearest willing subject: the dogs, the sleeping cats, and of course the horses.

This pastime quickly became a passion in my life as I developed my skill through practice year after year. As a young girl I would frequently enter art shows, and I continued to hone my abilities through studying painting both in college and later on in Europe.

My life thus far has been a journey with art taking an important role the entire way through. From the pure enjoyment of experimentation with sketching and painting as a girl, learning technical skills and art history later on, working on projects with my family and witnessing my children's own unique artistic talents, expanding into my home, my career and finally back to those warm afternoons painting the animals...this is what I do. This is what I love.
